Limpek + Ee Ling ( Part 3 )

- Day 2 -

Queen Victoria Market

Groceries, clothes, souvenirs etc.. ANYTHING are sold here. Groceries are relatively cheaper at noon-3pm on Saturdays ( and still fresh ) as they try to sell everything off before Sunday (normally leftovers). I love buying bananas here as sometimes it goes for 50 cents a kilo ~ especially when they've turned slightly darker.

These two again. Spicy salted chicken ribs (left) and Szechuan pork on rice ( right )

Rose Garden

Bourke st, on our way to Smith Street, where you find the branded sports wear, Nike, Adidas, New Balance, etc at factory outlet prices.

More to come!

Fast Cash Online!!

I really liked how this website put up their 'convincing' quotes.

Fast cash loans online, where Customer Service is an Attitude not a Department!

A Straight Talk No Bull Web Site

Frankly speaking, I have come across many Customer Service 'officers' who show an attitude with straight talking of 'cock and Bull' stories to get out of any situation. I'm sure you've seen and heard them before. Typical lines include, 'we'll get it done ASAP in 2 working days ( or the ambitious would say in 24 horus)', When asked why wasnt it done, typical answers include ' The technician hasn't got back to us / your application has just been sent / system failure / etc etc. After a week of waiting, you start to get frustrated, and ask to speak to the Supervisor. ' Supervisor's not around/Supervisor will look into it later/ Supervisor is on another line' etc. NEXT STEP! Speak to the MANAGER! He calls you back! WOW! but he reluctantly listens to your problem and forces you away by 'GUARANTEEing' it to be done by the next working day! Does it happen? you tell me!

However, let's give 'fastcashonline.com' the benefit of the doubt. They could be practising what they preach! All you need to have is

1) an active bank account

2) employed or have a verifiable income

3) 18 years old or older

ALL the same procedures. I'm interested to find out if they all have the same outcomes!

So if you're interested in Payday loans, try it out, and do drop me a note about it!

Overnight Cash Advance

Have you ever needed cash in an emergency? Well not in the case of putting down a down-payment for a house, BUT in the cases of paying your monthly rent, paying for exam fees, or even a small gift for someone special? Pacific Advance guarantees cash advance of amounts up to $2500 overnight! To be eligible, you have to fulfill certain criteria as usual, i.e.

1) You need to be currently employed, or earning a steady recurring income

2) Must be at least 18 years of age

3) Earning a gross income of at least $1000 monthly, or minimum of $800 per month in Social Security or other benefits

4 )Not a resident of Colorado, Kansas or Georgia, W. Virginia or Nevada. All else, valid.

If you think you've fulfilled these criteria, don't wait, and apply straight away.

Before you sign off, I urge all of you to PLEASE read carefully the Terms and Conditions. Thats all I ask of you =)

as there's not a free lunch anywhere in the world!!

Cheers!

CMG - What-binds-us

Hello again,

CMG will be having their chinese musical production (What-Binds-Us) between 21st - 23rd August 2008. I'm in violin I division this time, and honestly speaking, its quite scary! Cuz there're only 2 of us, and most of the time, my desk partner(music student) isn't free for rehearsals! So I'll be playing the solo parts. It has been quite OKAY so far, but I can see the challenge already. SO MANY HIGH NOTES + weird timings ( modern music )! They're really nice though, you can have a look from here. I try to practise before rehearsals, just to know what the notes sound like! ANd these are all original music, so nobody has heard it before, even the conductor! Its really cool though, as we put our own interpretations whenever we feel like it. Well, at least not until the conductor corrects you, you're doing fine! If only the music can be written this way..

Composed by ......
Arr. by .....
Lyrics by ....
Interpreted by ...TSE HAN..ahhaha. nah..

There are 4 sessions available.all tix are 12 dollars if bought from me ( I give discounts!~)

21st - 7pm Union Theater

22nd - 7pm "

23rd - 2 pm "

23rd - 7 pm "

PLease come and support us, or at least ME! =)

Limpek + Ee Ling (Part 2)

I used the computer in Uni today, thats how I got all the pics uploaded. And they had Adobe Photoshop CS2 in it as well, so i tried some captions. Oh, the photos were really bad. I think I made some manual settings to the camera and didn't change it back.. Thats why the pics were so blur. It looked Awesome on the camera screen tho.. mana tau...

First stop, Docklands...

Ee Ling filled us in with her sense of humour throughout the trip, especially those 'potato falling down' kinda jokes if you remember~! *internal joke*

Supposed to be the next 'harbour view' of Australia, after Sydney. But some people says that the area is still a glut; overpriced and unpopular. That is why they reached out to Msians and Singaporeans for Investment in their properties. People speculate that the area should develop in 5 years.

This is the view from Crown Casino, facing Yarra River. And the person in the picture is ME~! YES, I was touring as well.

Another Picture together. It was so bright as the flames just 'burst out??' from the tiang?. haha. i'm lost for words. please correct this. its embarrassing! It only occurs every hour for about 2 minutes.

Look at these two pictures. Aww. they both have the same signature pose. They'll look so cute together. lolz. *please dun kill me*

Calm and collected me. Intersection of Flinders and Swanston. Opposite Federation Square.

Steps at Federation Square. Taken by Ee Ling.

Grin of the devil. He wanted it that way...

Using Colour filter on my Canon IXUS 860 while waiting to catch a tram back home. Freddo's was closed by 11pm that night so went back instead.

Thats the end of their first day. More coming on day 2~!

STAY TUNED.

Melbourne and Around - Limpek + Eeling (Part 1)

2nd July 08 -

2 friends from the neighbouring states, Limpek ( Canberra ,ACT ) and Ee Ling ( Adelaide, SA ) arrived here at my place. Me being me, I always liked to make full use of the tram tix I validate. So the night before, I planned routes around Melbourne CBD, including those that I have NEVER been before(outskirts), killing 3 birds with one stone! There was an issue, these two obviously didnt know each other since they were from different high schools and colleges. So how?

Dun care. More importantly I save money. muahhhaha.

Thank God for the world being so small! These two jokers were formerly Primary classmates in Puay Chai! All issues seized!! Woohoo..and then starts the tour..

Crown Casino facing Yarra River

To be continued...
sorry! uploading pics damn slow la.

Chinese Music Group (CMG), University of Melbourne

Hi guys,

I'll be playing in the orchestra for this coming Production ' What-Binds-us ', written and produced originally by CMG. This group comprises enthusiastic students of various educational backgrounds who sit together to produce something so intricate and professional; all derived purely from talent and passion! I have to say that I'm extremely inspired by them, even though I haven't seen or had any rehearsals with them yet *smacks on the forehead* (LOL), but trust me, THEY ARE DAMN GOOD!

Honestly speaking, I have no idea how good their musicals were and auditioned for experience sake initially. But ever since I visited their website, and heard their previous soundtracks, I have a totally different perspective to the group now. I feel really honored being part of them. Quick click and stream their OST of Tails on their website, and you'll be mesmerized by how talented these students are. Remember, its a student production! I really like the song 'rest in peace' for its composition. The other songs are really good too, it shows diversity in their compositions.

Anyway, semester 2 is going to start on the 28th of July, and I can already see how busy I will be, playing in 3 orchestra ( might be 4 , subject to availability ). I'm still in the midst of choosing my subjects which is typically super hard for me. But for once, I'm proud to say, I CANT WAIT FOR UNI TO RESUME!

=)

'Lien'...

My mom was once working with TTDI development, and it was then that I heard of many contractors 'running' away with their customers' money. It was getting so rampant that most Projects had to suffer delays, or worse put to a complete halt. One of it still exists till now, this Old+semi complete building sitting right next to TTDI Hills, eye sore to many, but A retreat for some adventurous friends of mine, who brave their way up just for a better view of Fireworks.

I have never heard of any legal rights/actions pertaining to such mishaps till recently when I came across this website, while browsing for the jargon 'Lien'. (Lien is a law jargon which actually means The right to take and hold or sell the property of a debtor as security or payment for a debt or duty extracted from Dictionary.com). Only difference is, this company (''Prolien' on the website) represents the contractors! I guess time has changed. Contractors are protected against clients who arent in the position to pay.

When do you need Prolien? in a nutshell.

>contractors built your house

>they put hard work and effort into it

>physical and mental labour involved

>most of the time under less-than-ideal conditions (not in Aussie tho, LOL)

>and so they deserve to be paid fairly

>and not taken advantage of

>If the above is not met, that's when Prolein steps in, within 20 days notice.

I'm not studying law btw, just curious! =)

Probate Loans

I was wondering if this is really true?

This company ' Inheritance Funding Company ' which specializes in Probate inheritance can actually advance money between 5,000 - 100,000 without any application fees or interests. Sure looks too good to be true ain't it. It claims to provide fast inheritance cash in which I believe acts as a transition to provide monetary funds to those who needed money but couldn't wait until they receive their inheritance. It says ' IFC advances you inheritance money today in exchange for a set amount further down the road.'

Are we eligible to apply only when we're notified of our Inheritance value? If so, how do they make money? whats their purpose of giving out loans? CAn anyone shed some light here? lolz

I guess this will help those who're seriously in debts, well I wonder if the killings might increase! Being a student now, I probably need this facility for my tuition fees! If only...

Am I that consistent?

Wow, I'm just amazed at how consistent I am, look at the number of posts per month. XD

Probate Attorney

I came across this word recently and googled it. Probate actually means the process of legally transferring one's property upon his/her death such as that written in a will.

Interestingly, in the Probate administration today, the probate process may be contested or uncontested. Just like what we used to see on those television dramas (typically HK TVB dramas), some heirs who wished to have more share than what is given, will come up with arguments to express their dissatisfaction. Apparently there're several ways that could deem the decedent's will improper.

Just to name a few :-

1) the decedent may have been improperly influenced in making gifts

2) the decedent did not know what they were doing (insufficient mental capacity) at the time the will was executed

3) the decedent did not follow the necessary legal formalities in drafting his or her will.

Don't you think these scenarios looked familiar? As seen on TV? lolz.

Anyway guys, why do you need a will?? Is it just a simple way of setting your wishes before you die? Are we too young to write a will? I think we should all be aware of these when we start earning an income, or as soon as we have ownership to some degree of 'valuable properties'. Be it a house, a musical instrument, an artifact, antic etc etc.

My last words, consult orange county probate lawyer.

THink about it guys. Have fun =)

Pre*Post Performance Review - Melba Hall, University of Melbourne

Blogging once again at the weirdest hour; 3:30am it is, in the midst of exams.

Think thats weird? Try this, bathing at 2:00 am!

Nothing new, i suppose.

How about this, Cutting hair at 2:30 am! Yes, for whatever reasons, I don't know! But it happened to me.

I've figured thats the disadvantage of knowing the contours of your hair too well. You can't keep your hands away longer than how long the shape of your hair lasts. I for one has too much hair! Gee! Oh, and I was discussing with a friend about what exams do to us and how it affects our nocturnal activities - I started googling for my friends, he started naming his children, she started writing song lyrics; all in the wee hours of the morning. If this goes on, I might just start making Sambal someday! HAHA! Exams should definitely be abolished.

Anyway,

It was the night before a performance with 'The Melbourne Sinfonia' - affiliated to the Royal Children Hospital, at Melba Hall, Melbourne University; when the scissors started snipping away; when my hsemate had to hold his pee ( sorry! that wasnt intentional, noticed your lights were out, haha! ), and my desire to look better struck. verdict - NO regrets. I look awesome =) *aussie style*

It turned out that I was the youngest player that night. The people there are, Seasoned ( not old ), though I was pretty amused by their age. Juliette, who sits next to the Concert Master, looks just like an ordinary grandmother, but when she plays the violin, it just blows you away. She is a retiree 'concert master' of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (MSO) equivalent of MPO in Malaysia. Not only her, there're many others who play just as well despite their age. You should definitely consider this as your retirement hobby!

The performance went just fine for Brahms Piano Concerto no. 2 (but Tim Young - pianist - was excellent), as I was obviously not well prepared for this, since I hadnt heard of it enough coupled with all the frequent key changes + synchopations throughout. I made some really embarrassing mistakes! haha, eg, having played an extra chord when everybody else were at 'rest'. LOL, I could still remember vividly how my desk partner tried to warn me about the double rest ( instead of 1), but it was all too late. Thank god I was in second violin div, well hidden from everybody else.

On the other hand, I know I played Beethoven Symphony no. 5 well, our second piece. A piece almost overly used today, till it might have become a phobia to some; I was bored of that piece initially, but after going through it (playing it) with Conductor Joannes Roose, it blew me by how beautifully this piece is organised. It was definitely the blast of the night. Listening and playing to it, is DIFFERENT! I for one thoroughly enjoyed the excitement of playing it. I couldnt have enough of it!

GOsh, I have tried uploading the pics like A million times and its always an error. Sorry for another wordy post.

I shall stop here..

B for BRAVO!!!

Dear loyal readers,

I'll be performing in an orchestra this weekend (10th of May 2008)! Finally, my BIG dream came true. I'll be playing under the violin 1 division, which is pretty hard for a start for me. Furthermore, we don't have fixed desk partners. So yeah, I have to make sure I get the one on the left, so I play the lower notes at 'div' - meaning divide. I dun mind turning the pages too. lolz.

These are the details (those in aussie, those not in Aussie sorry yeah )

That means, I will need to practise my parts too....gosh, the concert's this sat, and we're not fully prepared yet. lolz. I hope it will turn out well....

Work has begun, papers all over my wall, neighbors will have no peace, justin (my hsemate) will scream have ear plugs, lolz.

Yeah, somebody complained one day when i was playing till 10 pm. lolz..

Thats all, please come and support my concert =)

P/s, tell me if you're coming, I can brief you about some orchestral ethics first, you dun want to embarrass yourself do you ;)

You guys just keep me going!

Hello people,

Yes, I know this is one Long overdue post. I've lost touch with blogging ( as if i've got a hold of it before...yeah i know what all of you're thinking ) but you guys just keep me going!

All the comments and replies (the few) just proves something about my blog. It is not willing to accept its demise.

More often than not, I always get a lot of inspiration from reading your blogs, and would pledge to revive my own blog. But every time I tried, there seemed a million excuses to forsake it. I guess its just not my cup of tea.

However, let me share with you my current Position as an Undergrad at Uni Melb.

I'm currently doing a Bachelor of Science (new melbourne model) degree, juggling 4 core subjects for the first semester, namely Biology, Chemistry, Engineering Systems Design (ESD), and Advanced Maths (totally unnecessary). The three core subjects will enable me to do Life Sciences for the following years. For the sake of diversity, I widened my major options to the engineering fields as well ( as they receive more PR points ) and took up the unnecessary Advanced Maths subject. Yes, it is really REALLY unnecessary.

Advanced maths is sucking up my life; my energy; my freedom; my EVERYTHING. LOLz.

Every chapter is brand new (to me), and lectures move on week by week at the speed of light! Yup, thats University life, but hard work itself will definitely not pull me through this subject. Certain topics are not even listed in the text book! To resolve this, I have borrowed 8 MATHS books from the library and read them. Problem is, I still don't seem to understand certain things. Sigh.is.all.i.can.say.

BUT, when I actually got to do some questions, the feeling was overwhelming. 1 question in 2 hours, with self study and research, all I can say is pure satisfaction. It got even better when I taught someone who taught me instead the week before. WOW! And I felt more motivated to do more, as though I saw the light at the end of the tunnel.

Then ALL the confidence fell hard, when the lecturer started a new chapter. It was like a new beginning of struggle once again, Dejavu some may call it. I climbed the steps again struggling the steepness of each step. And I was found to be seeking help from the person whom I helped before. LOlz, Its good, and its what tutorials are for, but I wish I could learn it myself.

SO what i need to pass this subject is, PERSEVERANCE !

ESD has been really challenging too, but I'm liking it. We have 3-hour workshops every week, which practically drains your brains empty. They're designed to depict the real-world engineering work field, where you work in teams to solve problems. Of course we don't work on problems straight away, we were first trained to develop problem solving skills. Eg. mind mapping, brain storming, problem identifying, sourcing for information etc. All they do is give us a problem, and we solve them using a computer in front of us. Each session is assessed, and work must be submitted at the end of the workshop. Imagine researching on stuff not heard before, yeah, now you can see how brain draining it is. But you'd feel really great at the end of each work shop, at least i did. I LOVE IT!

Thats about all that is new in the subjects I'm doing.

Recently I have been hanging out with a lot of christian friends, attending church and cell groups. I really love the cell group meets, as it teaches real good lessons in life (just like sunday schools), and ultimately, motivates everybody to accept their challenges in life.

Oh, and some of them are fasting before camp, to make their purpose more significant ( i think ). They can fast on anything that they feel, they cant live without. So there are some who fast lunches, fast from going out, fast from 'not' watching TV. lolz. I was just thinking, if I were to fast, that would be fast from cooking.Lolz

Yes, I really REALLY enjoy cooking and eating as well. I'm good at it. HAHA. So far, I've cooked Bak Kut Teh, different types of Curry, lotus root soup, ABC soup, ginger onion chicken, black pepper beef, red beancurd pork, fried chicken, scallop broccoli, chicken groundnut porridge etc.

More food has been even planned in my mind too, like muscles, radish soup, typical carbonara, lolz. yeah. I cant live without cooking. that would be a really good fast isnt it? hehe.

Oh well, I have said enough. I shd be back completing my assignment on researching the lecturers' research field. Yeah, really weird assignments they have.

Till my next post soon, or next century! Dont bother waiting!
